Description: Most of our signs are electric, incandescent to neon. Some still new in the box. Goldleaf signs from the 1890s to 1910.
More Details: The museum also has an in-house working neon shop that can create neon signs or repair existing ones. A few of the signs include full-size, 28-foot-tall Howard Johnson and McDonald's signs; rotating Earl Scheib and a Sputnik-like sign; a Burma Shave sequence; 1910 smaltz Buick; a full-size Big Boy; a 1920s bulb-lit, mimetic boot sign; porcelain enamel: Goodyear, Nabisco, Phillips 66; neon: DeSoto, Pure Gas (1930s), Dolly Madison (1930s), Firestone blade sign, Army and Navy store, Ford (1930s), flashing Go Gulf (1970s), 1950s Rexhall Drugs. Original showcards for movies and musicians from 1930-1960: John Wayne, Bowery Boys, Sherlock Holmes, Roy Rogers, Frank Sinatra, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton.
