Modern Props Auction – Prop House De-Acquisition Sale

Items in artwork not necessarily a part of sale.

Sometimes props just start to gather dust and it’s time to send them off to a new home.

Modern Props, a large prop house that fits snugly between the 210 and the 118, will be auctioning off around 2,000 items in a couple of weeks. They have always had quite an eclectic inventory so it is particularly exciting for those who like unique pieces. None of their fabricated items will be a part of the auction.

All bidding and payment will be handled online and hosted by Billings Auction – this means Modern Props themselves do not have control over who gets what. As much as Ken would love to help you, he won’t even let ME nab this sweet lamp that caught my eye. It should be noted that you can, and SHOULD, stop by Modern Props to view the lots yourself before logging on for the sale. Physical auction preview will occur over the next couple of weeks, specifically October 14-18 and 21-25 from 10am-3pm.

There will be 2,000 lots available to bid on over the two separate sale days. All manner of lighting fixtures, seating and sofas, desks and more will be up for grabs.

Two of the Largest Prop Houses in San Francisco Auctioning 90% of Inventory

Due to the loss of their lease two major bay area prop houses are auctioning off 90% of their inventories this weekend (May 17-19) and next weekend (May 24-16).

Acme Scenery and The Prop House, two scenery and prop companies that have swallowed up much of the set dressing industry in the Greater San Francisco area are moving out. This means they have to get rid of most of their inventory fast and they are accomplishing that through a series of auctions.

You can view the auctioneer’s website for more information:
https://theyesco.com/current-sale/

Tens of thousands of items will be up for sale at their address:
100 Industrial Way, Brisbane, CA 94005

If you’re up in the area the next two weekends, you should stop by. You never know what may be available!

The Costume House Costume Sale

Now that we are finally in the month of October many of us are trying to figure out what to wear for Halloween. Many more of us are just shopping for costumes for the year too of course, but I can’t help but love a holiday that is purely centered around eating candy (and some pagan thing that I don’t think we really worry about anymore).

The Costume House is currently having a sale on their costumes (of which they have an incredibly large collection) as long as you bring in a printout of this flyer:

Halloween 2015

The last time to shop with this discount is this weekend so open up your schedule and head on over there!
